LongCat first impression

LongCat comes from Meituan, a food delivery company, and on paper it has nothing going for it. No standout benchmarks, no hype, nothing special. I've stopped judging models by benchmarks anyway, so I gave it a real task in OpenChamber: build a cute agent UI. What surprised me wasn't the result, it was how it worked. It writes clear, concise code, checks in before decisions, and does one step at a time. That's slow in a one-shot test and very good in real agentic engineering. It isn't the cheapest model, but the interaction quality is there.
