Claude Skills Are a Crutch If You Don't Understand What's Inside Them

Anthropic shipped a repo of knowledge-work plugins that turn your agent into a lawyer, a systems designer, or a reviewer. If you already know what failover or horizontal scaling means, you don't need the skill. If you don't, the skill handles it and leaves you in a conversation you can't continue.

That makes it a power-up: it carries you for a level and then it wears off. Skills are exactly right for busywork you already understand, like the one I wrote to upload these videos, and the useful ones are the ones you write yourself. Watch it on YouTube.
